This morning presented a couple of hours to squeeze in a ramble around town, I wanted to check out a park that I thought might be a gateway to some fire roads, but that did not pan out. The Fog and mist were pretty thick....

Riding back across town I stopped at the farmer's market to pick up some fruit, then headed over to the flea market. Each week seems to keep getting bigger. THis time there were more vendors with bike junk, and definitely more guys skimming for stuff to flip. I was still able to haul some decent loot.
I was able to squeeze in a quick hour spin up the coast this afternoon before dinner. The sun came out, and I was blessed with blue skies for a bit...

The fog was not far off though, and closed back in before I made it home
Making a bike ride out of trip to the post office is a great way to inject a little adventure into the Friday lunch break. It just so happened, there was a hole in the fog and a little blue sky peaking through. Dropping off an outbound saddle.

After the drop off, and picking up the Pro Compe I was waiting for this week, it was time to hit the park for our first playground trip.

Then off through town to check the surf,

Around the point and back towards home the clouds and fog were closing in,

It is hard to imagine a better way to spend 45 minutes in the middle of the day.
Happy Friday, Happy Father's day and Go Play Outside this weekend!

What summer at the beach in california really looks like...

Two hours after the sun was up and not getting much brighter out.
This morning was in the low 40's, I had to look around a bit to find the fleece gloves.

Although cold it is gorgeous out, the rain should be here the next two days and then more of this. Hopefully the rains will slow the transition from green to tan.

Mama's turn to captain the ship. The Bobike is so easy to switch between bikes. I am certain this is the best bike related purchase of the year.

Morning surf check, and wearing down for the nap.
Enjoy the weekend, play outside with your family!
This winter has been an incredible display of weather extremes here in Ventura. Five days ago was rain with snow down to 4000 feet. Today it was 60deg before the sun came up. Made some time for a quick surf check and a little dirt on the way home.

I am done saying spring has sprung, but get out and enjoy the warm weather!

Today was her first ride ever and she is as stoked as daddy.

First a spin around the block and then a run to the beach with mommy and Baloo. (turn the volume down, sorry about the screechy sound)
And now a whole new chapter of family biking begins for spring.
Did I mention how stoked I am, and when she watches the video she claps and laughs. Time for bed so tomorrow gets here quicker.
I thought I could make it to the mid-week Farmer's market to pick up some beef and veggies before the next wave of rain hit. I could see it coming in behind me from the west an knew it was going to be close getting home dry.

There was snow peeking out through the clouds on the Topa bluffs, but not easy to catch with the camera I had with me.

Making it there was fairly dry, the way home was another matter.

The
Patagonia Men's Houdini®
performed perfectly as did my Rainlegs chaps. Both pieces of rain gear are perfect for the light rain quick ride sort of thing. This test was only 6 or 7 miles in drizzle, but that is all you need most of the time here in southern California. Anything more and these will wet out and then through, all dry and happy this time though.
